ROUND 1

The main event is upon us and the time has come for both fighters to make the walk. This highly anticipated rematch is guaranteed to be a banger to close out the night with this Championship affair. Adesanya paces back and fourth just eyeing his opponent. Poatan looks fierce with the stare of an ice cold killer. Bruce Buffer wraps up the intros and here we go. The fighters dont touch gloves and retreat back to their corners. The fighters meet in the middle and Poatan lands a big outside right leg kick. Izzy fires a couple low left kicks back. Poatan stabs the middle with his toe and chops Adesanyas leg again. The fighters and trading kicks in the middle. Poatan lands a right leg kick and Izzy returns with a high kick to the face which grazes Poatans face. Halfway through Poatan return with a right kick to the head of Izzy that’s briefly blocked. Izzy follows with an overhand right which connets. Pereira returns with some sharp lower leg kicks of his own. Both fighters are trading kicks and jabs. Izzy connects on a nice combo and backs Poatan up slightly. Both fighters continue strikes from the outside and with some distance as both are hesitating to get too close. Poatan is poking Izzys calf’s looking to receive the fruits of his labor in the coming rounds. Both fighters are trading kicks and the bell rings to close Round 1.

ROUND 2

Round 2 starts and were back at it. Much of the same both fighters trading kicks and feints. Poatan looks confident and both fighters trade near miss head kicks. Pereira is really going for it now and both fighters are trading big. Izzy digs to the body and a few wild punches are returned from Poatan. Izzy lands a big right hand and both fighters are pressing back and fourth. Poatan pokes a few more calf kicks. And a jab to Izzys body. Adesanya returns with a jab and Poatan returns one right back which snaps Izzys head back. Izzy connects on two right hands and Poatan returns with some baby leg kicks. Poatan throws a jab and misses and Izzy returns with a heavy left leg kick of his own. Poatan is pressing Izzy back and Izzy throws a huge left that connects. Both fighters are finding success. Poatan throws a few more leg kicks and Adesanya is compromised. Out of no where Izzy connects on a couple of massive punches and has Poatan staggering back in la la land. He follows it up with a couple more massive strikes and sends Poatan to the netherworlds. Izzy gets the belt back and shuts up the critics. Incredible knock out.

ROUND 1

The co-main is slated to start and Masvidal receives the welcome you would expect from Miami. The crowd is absolutely electrified and amped up and ready for both of the Florida fighters to trade leather. Masvidal is all business in the octagon as he stares down his opponent. Bruce Buffer brings the pre-fight introductions to a close. Both fighters touch and here we go. The fighters and feinting and both fighters are feeling each other out. Both fighters circle and trade jabs. Burns lands a kick to the body followed by a checked kick by Mas. Mas throws a leg kick to the thigh. Mas lands a left kick. Burns throws a few jabs followed by a big right hand to Mas’ jaw. Mas smiles back. Both fighters are very cautious as they dance in the middle searching for the range. Mas lands a combo right and right kick. Both fighters trade leather and continue the dance. Burns throws a wild combo and lands slightly, there’s a quick scramble followed by a few mean right hands from Burns. Mas lands a kick to the body, and with one minute left both fighters still are cautious. Mas lands a big right and followed with a very night right hand from Burns. Burns lands a calf kick and Jorge jumps for a new but gets cracked by Burns. With 6 seconds left burns lands a takedown and rains down some blows and hammer fists down on Masvidal.

ROUND 2

Round 2 starts and both fighters meet in the middle and trade left hooks. Burns is pressing Mas against the fence and is going for a ride. Gilbert slams him down and maintains full control on top. Mas is holding on to Burns and working well defensively. The crowd starts to boo as their Miami fighter is stuck on his back. Gilbert is throwing down a few strikes from the top and Mas is grabbing on. Marc Goddard advices to keep working and with 2:50 left in the second Mas is still stuck on his back in guard. Mas is pinned against the fence and eating some shots on the bottom. Mas rolls while trying to get to his feet and they both scramble and Gilbert still maintains wrist control. He throws mas to the ground and Mas posts up against the fence trying to get out of this smothering position. With a minute left Mas has found a way to his feet and both fighters are wrestling. Mas searches for an under hook and finally fins it with 48 seconds left. Burns still is pressing Mas against the fence and finally both fighters separate. Mas swings a wild right and lands a left kick to Burns body. how throws a flying knee and both fighters land a big right. Mas smiles and the bell rings.

ROUND 3

With what seems 2 rounds in the bank for Burns, Masvidal seemingly needs to do something impressive this last and final round. Both fighters touch in the middle and mas throws a right and followed by a kick from Burns. The crowd chants “lets go Jorge” briefly and then fades out to a relatively quiet arena. A few jabs here and there followed by some kicks from both. Another nice lower leg kick followed up by a few left leg kicks. Jorge throws a nice 1-2 left followed by a right hook and seemingly rocks Mas. Mas is hurt and eats another huge right hook. Followed by a left hook. Mas lands a nice kick in return. Followed by a right. Burns lands a huge right up the middle, and follows up with two more huge shots. Another massive right hook and Mas is egging him to keep coming with 2:00 minutes left. Burns cracks Mas again but Mas returns with a big combo. Burns closes the distance and is trying to get Jorge to the ground. He finally gets the takedown with 1 minute left and has Mas in a bad position. Hes throwing some huge rights down and now threatening with a choke. With 20 seconds left Masvidal seemingly looks to go down 3-0 on the scorecards.

UPDATE: Masvidal retires in his hometown of Miami. In a poetic sendoff. Mas had a fantastic career.

ROUND 1

Both fighters touch gloves and here we go. Both fighters trade jabs and feel each other out. Holland lands with a nice kick to the abdomen. Both fighters trade a punch for a kick. Holland throws a teep kick to the thigh. Both fighters trade punches again and Ponzi slips briefly. Holland is utilizing his long range strikes and both fighters continue to trade as Ponzi lands a jab to the body. With 90 seconds to go both fighters are still throwing and trading. A very close round thus far as both fighters are evenly matched. A backfist lands with 5 second left for Holland and Ponzi briefly looked like he lost consciousness. Ponzi drops and is saved by the bell.

ROUND 2

The second round begins and both fighters touch gloves in the middle. Holland is throwing lefts and head hunting. He is mixing in his kicks very well. Ponzi lands a right and both fights are throwing in the middle. Holland and Ponzi continue to trade blows and this is turning into a brawl. 90 seconds left and both fighters are still throwing jabs and kicks. Holland seems to have hurt Ponzi and Ponzi holds him against the fence and seems to be fine. He eats a few inside leg kicks and elbow to the side of the head. An exciting round none the less.

ROUND 3

The third and final round begins and Holland smiles and says something to the corner. Both fights trade and Ponzi lands a hook while to the jaw while Holland lands a kick. Ponzi fires a kick back. A nice left hook is partially blocked by Holland. Both fighters are still throwing with dangerous intentions. Ponzi throws a kick but is blocked. Holland lands a left jab and Ponzi responds with two back. Holland is winging kings and staying long and Ponzi needs to go for it soon. Ponzi throws a jab and lands while Holland returns fire with a kick up the middle. With 2:00 minutes left both fighters have slowed down significantly. Holland throws a massive left hook and puts Ponzi down. As his face bounces off the canvas, Holland lands a couple more shots and Dan Mirgliota steps in to wave off the bout.

CHRISTIAN RODRIGUEZ (8-1)(137)*VS. RAUL ROSAS JR.(7-0)(135)

ROUND 1

The UFC 287 main card opens up with two young gunners from Bantamweight. Both fighters are wickedly talented so this should be an excellent scrap. The crowd is fired up as Bruce Buffer introduces the fighters. Both fighters meet at the middle and Rosas shoots for a takedown immediately. Rodriguez defends and is holding Rosas against the fence. Rosas turns him and both are wrestling the first minute in. Rosas Jr. is holding on to a single le and pressing against the fence and gets his takedown. A beautiful reverse by Rodriguez and he is on top now. Both fighters get back to their feet and Rosas Jr continues his pursuit for another takedown. Rosas out of nowhere hops on Rodriguez’ back and is looking for a choke. The body triangle is secured but Rodriguez survives for the time. Rosas still looking for the choke, now on the ground, he needs to survive 45 seconds more to make it to the bell. Excellent defense this far by Rodriguez. The horn rings and both fighters retreat to their corners.

ROUND 2

The second round begins and Rosas Jr. shoots immediately but Rodriguez gains top control. He sneaks to the back while Rojas escapes to the feet. Huge knee by Rodriguez lands. Christiana nd Rojas continue their scramble and both are throwing strikes in the middle. Rojas shoots for a takedown and gets Rodriguez’ back as he tries to escape. Its a relentless pace that Rojas Jr is maintaining. A reverse by Christian Rodriguez and he is reining down a few punches from above. Rojas looks tired. A snappy elbow on top lands from Rodriguez. Both fighters are scrambling and Rodriguez maintains his top control. Rodriguez maintains back control and wins the round in my opinion.

ROUND 3

Round 3 starts and the fighters trade hooks in the middle. Rosas Jr misses a spinning backfist and Rodriguez clips him with a combo. Rosas Jr shoots for a takedown and is stuffed. He looks extremely exhausted but the 18 year old is digging deep. Rodriguez stuffs another takedown and transitions to the back. Rodriguez gains full mount and Rosas is doing everything he can to escape. Rosas turns to his back and is getting beat on. Rodriguez clips him from a nasty elbow from the bottom and is riding Rosas Jrs back. Rosas is stumped and stuck in the body triangle and doesn’t have anything left in the tank to escape it seems. With 20 seconds left it seems like Rosas Jr will have to need to take some time off rebuild and come back with more knowledge.
